What's Happening in Our Schools

I was reading the FBI feeds recently following the horrific events in Texas last week. As more information comes to light, it's beginning to look (once again) like the warning signs were there, and here again, was a tragedy that could have been prevented.

We aren't going to weigh in on the debate about how to protect our schools. We want to share with you the information being made publicly available to schools and other stakeholders. We think you'll find this interesting, particularly if you have children in K-12 schools. This is what your school should be doing if they are a public school. Most private schools have added armed security, it's our public schools that remain most vulnerable. Here are two eye-opening reports:

FBI Active Shooter Report 2021 - https://5982046.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/5982046/FBI_ActiveShooterReport_2021.pdf

K-12 School Security Guide 2022 - https://5982046.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/5982046/CISA-K-12-School-Security-Guide-2022.pdf

We found the Active Shooter report startling - we're experiencing exponential growth in this phenomenon, and that's terrible news.

Our hearts go out to everyone, particularly our South Texas clients who are on the front lines of dealing with this tragedy. Words cannot express our sadness.
